In 2007, Tim Ferriss published a book that changed business forever.
“The 4 Hour Work Week” took the world by storm.
In a few hundred pages, Ferriss dismantled the outdated ‘corporate hustle’ mentality. Out went long hours, endless hustle and playing politics as the way to ‘get ahead’ in life and business.
In its place, he preached a gospel of systematization, automation and delegation. Do those things, he told us, and you’ll be able to "break out of the 9 - 5 trap, live anywhere, and join the new rich."
There’s only one problem.
It doesn’t work.
If it did, I'd never get messages like these ...
Just a few conversations I've been part of over the past several years.
I wish these were isolated incidents.
But when you think about it, it’s only natural that this would be the result.
Most of us started our businesses because we were good at solving certain problems. Not because we were good at delegating. Not because we were great managers. Certainly not because we wanted to become “the boss”.
And yet, there comes a point at which we can't keep doing it all by ourselves.
So, we hire.
We portray to ourselves (and the world around us) that everything is great...
Even though it's not.
Now, I’m no business guru. I don’t have an MBA, and I’m not a serial entrepreneur with a trail of multi-7- and 8-figure exits at my back.
But I have worked inside dozens of multi-6 and multi-7-figure online businesses. First as a contractor, and later as a coach and consultant.
Along the way, I've seen some things:
📸Behind the stunning vacation photos:
An agency owner who can't step away without things grinding to a halt.
🏖Behind the high-end masterminds & retreats:
A coach who had to skip paying herself to pay her team and cover expenses.
💰Behind the '7-figures in sales' screenshots:
A business in chaos, with only duct-tape holding everything together.
What I’ve learned is that everybody knows that the way they’ve been doing things isn’t sustainable. But almost no one knows what to do instead.
And so most of us keep going back to the same ‘solutions’ … over and over and over again.
We look to the next marketing tactic, the next funnel hack, the next task to delegate instead of addressing the underlying problem:

Of course, it’s no accident that this is the way things are.
I mean, consider what our industry is built upon. Who our gurus have been, and what they've taught us ...
On the one side, we have the icons of Hustle Culture: Gary Vee's disciples telling us that we need to work harder to reach our goals. That the solution to every problem is MORE.
More leads. More sales. More clients. More marketing channels. More work.
Passive Income Culture
And on the other side, we have the devotees of Tim Ferriss' Passive Income Culture preaching that the only way to get ahead is to do LESS.
Less time. Less effort. Less engagement. Less personal touch. Less depth.
And those of us who want to build multi-million dollar empires based on quality, depth and lasting results?
We've been caught in the cross-fire.
Bombarded by ‘scaling’ solutions that are little more than marketing messages gone wild.
Victims of an ideological battle that rages on and on and on, telling us:
You either LIMIT the number of clients you can take ...
or you SYSTEMATIZE everything into cookie-cutter programs.
You either hire and manage a MASSIVE team ...
or you AUTOMATE the personal touch out of everything.
You either work HARDER than everyone else ...
or you DELEGATE the work you don’t want to do to others.
Now, there’s nothing inherently wrong with any of these options.
It’s just that, sooner or later, they all stop working.
- You can’t work harder, and there’s nothing left to delegate.
- Your massive team is too unwieldy, and you’ve lost the human connection.
- You hit a revenue ceiling, and stripped all the magic from your work.
In the end, you’re left with no hope of building your company to thrive, grow and succeed without you being there every step of the way.
All of which means one thing:
We need a new approach.
A way to break out of the Hustle and Passive Income Cultures, and into a new paradigm.
That’s what I’m going to show you how to do over the next few pages.
A word of warning before we begin, though:
If you want to scale without simply creating cookie-cutter products, automating the sh$t out of everything, or hiring a massive team, you will need to do things very differently.
It won't be easy.
It may not be fast.
And you will have to unlearn everything you think you know about what it means to "scale an online business."
Truth be told, most people can't be bothered.
Most online business owners making $250k - $1M a year would rather stay there, building a lifestyle business that’s all about them.
If that’s you, what you’re about to read won’t help.
